Based upon true events: A family-owned movie theater struggles with letting go of the past while switching from 35mm film to digital cinema to keep the theater open… A love letter to 35mm film, movies, and cinemas... which so desperately need our love and help right now. Filmed in North Wilkesboro, NC at the Historic Liberty Theatre and at Marketplace Cinemas in Winston-Salem, NC.

Spirit of the Cinema took home the Dog-iron Award for Best Narrative Short Film at the Will Rogers Motion Picture Festival!
The nominees and winner of this award were announced via a video from Actor, Bruce Boxleitner! (Find video at bottom of this page)
Director Zack Fox was at the festival to accept the award from festival organizers Bart, Jennifer, and Actor, Barry Corbin!
